Turning machine learning into action pays off
People are using more mobile data than ever, and they’re demanding that network speeds keep up. Our client wanted to upgrade 10 million users to a faster service, while keeping costs down.
We downloaded data from 60,000 cell towers to analyze how customers use their phones. Using machine learning, we were able to predict where users would travel throughout their day, and where traffic would be highest across the network. Based on these predictions, we sequenced the tower upgrades to provide the biggest improvement in service, at the lowest cost.
We made sure customers’ full journeys would be upgraded at the same time, giving them consistent service throughout their day.
